Studies & personal experience have shown us that the main incentive to farmers to realize long-term environmental, health & community benefits from regenerative agriculture is financial. Without sufficient financial incentives, being realized within a few months to a couple of years, many armchair studies & recommendations do not materialize; if they do, they do not last long. We all want to preserve the Carbon sinks like Amazon forests for hundreds of years. But they have been in danger without sufficient financial incentives to keep them such.
Bia Forests can generate year-round climate-resilient increased income for farmers, thus creating a solid financial incentive for active land stewardship that can be passed down over generations.
The other benefits of Bia Forests, which are incentives to varying degrees, are -
Food Forests provide a local source of nutritious, organic produce for communities that often lack reliable and economical access to healthy foods.
Food Forests are a great source of dietary diversity for the local community providing varied crops to fulfill the nutrition requirement.
In addition to healthy food, Medicinal plants & herbs are being built into the Bia Forest design to help empower self-care by incorporating medicinal herbs into one's diet.
Forests provide serenity
Seeing the whole cycle and bountifulness..
Bia Forests can sequester 70 tons of carbon per acre on par with the US Forest Service data for native forests.
Bia Forests use diversified intercropping for better climate resiliency and create productive natural windbreaks to mitigate against storms and hurricanes.
Bia Forests mimic native forests in possessing rich soil. We catalyze it by creating Biodiversity and preparing mulch, compost, biochar, wood ash, and plant matter grown on-site.
The soil rich in organic matter retains water, and the porosity helps recharge aquifers. We actively move water to its most efficient use.
Bia Forests provide habitat for small animals, birds, pollinators & fungus
We intend to incorporate local energy sources by “intercropping” photovoltaic, wind, geothermal, etc., within these Bia Forests.
